A free route planner for more than one driver

Paste up to 25 delivery addresses and say how many drivers you have, up to 5. The planner splits the stops between them, puts each route in order and gives you the miles, the time and a Google Maps link for every driver. Nothing is saved.

Include the city and state, or the ZIP, on each line.

Leave it empty and the day starts at the first address.

How it splits a day between drivers

Splitting stops by hand usually means drawing areas on a map: the north side to one driver, the south side to the other. It works until the north side has twice the stops. The planner does it the other way round. It places every address, then hands each stop to the driver whose day it adds the least to, and puts each driver's stops in the order with the least driving. That is the same planning Raute customers run every morning, with the limits of a free tool.

You choose what matters more. The fewest miles keeps the total driving as low as it goes, even if one driver ends up with a longer day. An even day for each driver evens out the hours so nobody finishes long after the rest, for a few more miles in total. If you want the reasoning behind each choice, the guide to splitting deliveries between drivers walks through it with a worked day.

What the free planner does

  • Up to 25 US addresses and 5 drivers at a time
  • One shared start, with or without the drive back
  • Each route in order, with miles and time
  • Google Maps links and a list to copy for each driver

What it leaves to Raute

  • Delivery windows, shift hours and a start point per driver
  • Stops locked to a driver, and changes during the day
  • The driver app, live tracking and proof of delivery
  • Orders read from emails, PDFs and spreadsheets

Questions about the free planner

Is it really free?+

Yes. There is no account, no trial clock and no card. Plan as many days as you like, up to 25 stops and 5 drivers at a time. It is free because the address lookup it uses, the US Census Bureau geocoder, is free too.

How does it decide which driver gets which stop?+

It looks at where every stop is and gives each one to the driver whose day it adds the least to, then puts each driver's stops in the order with the least driving. Choose "an even day for each driver" and it spreads the work so no driver ends hours after the others, at the cost of a few more miles in total.

Is my data stored?+

No. The addresses are looked up, planned and sent back to your screen. Nothing is saved, and the addresses are not written to our logs.

Can my drivers navigate the route?+

Each driver's route has buttons that open it in Google Maps in the planned order, ten stops per link, and a button to copy the list for a text message. The lines on the map here only show the order; the driver follows the roads.

Can I add time windows or keep a stop with one driver?+

Not in the free planner. It plans by distance only. Raute itself plans with delivery windows, stops locked to a driver, shift hours and start points per driver, and sends each driver their stops on the Raute app.

What if an address cannot be found?+

It is left out and listed under the plan with the reason, usually a missing city, state or ZIP. Nothing is guessed: a wrong pin is worse than no pin.

Can I plan routes like this from ChatGPT or Claude?+

Yes. The same planner is a free app inside ChatGPT and Claude. Paste the addresses into the chat and ask for routes for your drivers.

Want to know what your drivers' real day cost? The free route check measures yesterday against a planned one. The same planner also runs inside ChatGPT and Claude, and the full product is on the pricing page.
